Childhood & Early Life

Wardell’s childhood and early life Stephen Curry II was born in Akron, Ohio, on March 14, 1988. His father, Dell Curry, used to play basketball in the NBA, and his mother, Sonya Curry, played volleyball at Virginia Tech. His father and mother had three children. He is the oldest. His brother Seth is a professional basketball player for the “Dallas Mavericks.” He has a sister named Sydel, who plays volleyball at “Elon University.”

When Stephen was born, his father played for the “Cleveland Cavaliers.” Later, he switched teams and became a “Charlotte Hornets” member in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Stephen spent most of his youth. His dad would take him and his brother to his practice as a child.

After his dad joined the “Toronto Raptors” team, the family lived in Toronto briefly. During this time, Stephen led the boys’ basketball team at Queensway Christian College to a perfect season. He started attending “Charlotte Christian High School” after his family moved back to Charlotte. Because he was short, most trainers didn’t bother recruiting him.

Coach Seth Greenberg turned him down when he tried to join “Virginia Tech,” where his father attended college. Curry finally signed up for “Davidson College” in November 2005 after a coach named Bob McKillop persuaded him. McKillop saw Curry’s promise when he was ten and watched him play.

Stephen Curry College Life

Stephen Curry played his first college game against Eastern Michigan after he joined Davidson College. He only scored 15 points and turned the ball over 13 times in that game, but he showed what he was made of by scoring 32 points against Michigan in the next game. Stephen Curry averaged 21.5 points per game, making him the country’s second-highest scorer.

He made an even better showing in the 2007-08 season than the record-setting 122 three-pointers he made as a rookie in the first season. The “Davidson Wildcats” had not been to the “NCAA Tournament” since 1969 before he took them there. He also helped his team win 22 straight games.

He became Davidson’s all-time top scorer with 34 points in his junior year. Stephen Curry also had his best game ever on November 18, 2008, when he scored 44 points against Oklahoma. John Gerdy was the previous scoring leader, but he passed him to become the “NCAA” scoring leader that season.

Stephen Curry Career

Stephen Curry quit Davidson College before the end of his final year to play in the NBA. The “Golden State Warriors” picked him with the seventh pick in the 2009 NBA draft.

He played well from the start and scored 166 three-pointers as a rookie, the most in league history. However, he didn’t get much attention for the next two seasons because he kept getting hurt and played for a lousy team.

He fully healed from his ankle sprain during the 2012–13 season. After that, he and his friend Klay Thompson were called “The Splash Brothers” because they made so many three-pointers in a season. Stephen made 272 three-pointers by himself during the season, an NBA record.

In February 2014, he played in his first “All-Star” game for the “West” during the next season and was later named to his first “All-NBA Team.” He scored more three-pointers than Jason Richardson, making him the Warriors’ all-time leader.

He made 286 three-pointers in the 2014–15 season, which broke his league record for most made in a season. The NBA named him the “Most Valuable Player” of the year in 2015 after he helped the “Warriors” win their first title since 1975.

The following season, he helped his team win 24 straight games for 73 wins, an NBA record. Curry led the “Warriors” to their second straight “NBA Finals,” even though he was hurt. But his record 27 three-pointers in a final game couldn’t save the team.

During the 2015–16 season, he continued to break records. He broke his record for the most three-pointers made, bringing the total to 402. He is the first player in NBA history by everyone as the “Most Valuable Player.”

During the 2016–17 season, Curry broke many three-point “NBA” records. He also made more than 300 three-pointers for the second time in NBA history, ending with 324. By February 25, 2017, his team had already qualified for the playoffs, making them the fastest team in the history of the NBA.

Stephen played his first game with the US National Basketball Team at the FIBA Under-19 World Championship 2007. He helped the team win a silver title. In 2010, when he was on the senior team, he helped his team win a gold title. His team went perfect in the 2014 “FIBA Basketball World” Cup perfectly.

In the 2018 NBA playoffs, Curry led the “Golden State Warriors” to their third title in four years.
